Oscar Valladares Super Fly Super Cigars

Take a drive on any day to Pedro Portia lounge. The veranda is sunny with a light breeze in the summer heat. The doors are all opened up, letting the wind flow through the interior. The summer breeze and a Maduro cigar paired with coffee and a glass of wine. The perfect setting to light a lunch cigar.

Oscar Valladares SuperFly is Oscar's strongest blend to date. The cigar features a rich dark Mexican San Andres wrapper. The wrapper adds to the velvety, smooth and complex profile.

Oscar's masterful blending skills make the SuperFly a well-balanced cigar. It is a cigar to enjoy by casual and connoisseur smokers. The SuperFly Maduro features a Honduran binder from the Copan region. The cigars premium fillers are from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.

The result is a creamy-textured cigar with spice and cocoa. The cigar offers floral tones and rich tobacco sweetness.

Oscar Story

Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. cigar production is in Danli, Honduras. He started operating in 2012.

Oscar Valladares, Hector Valladares and Bayron Duarte started a cigar factory.

Oscar Valladares worked for a travel agency. Rocky asked Oscar to be part of his team. He took Rocky Patel's guests on tours to the Factory. Oscar met Bayron, who worked for General Cigars, and a long friendship began during this time.

Oscar Valladares, The Rising Star

The people of Honduras and Oscar's love for his homeland have inspired Oscars cigars. Oscar is one of the most exciting personalities in the international cigar world.

"When I first visited Danlí 15 years ago, I didn't even smoke cigars. I immediately fell in love with the wonderful process of cigar manufacturing. I understood what kind of special moment it is to smoke a cigar because so much individual work goes into it," Oscar.

A Turning Point for Oscar Valladares

Bayron Duarte and Oscar's brother, Hector, are Oscar's closest confidants and business partners.

With great difficulty, Oscar rented a small factory. Oscars brother, Hector Valladares, and master blender Bayron Duarte helped with the start.

Today, the three men are his close confidants and co-owners of the company in Danlí.

Cigars By Oscar

Valladares cultivates over 80 hectares of tobacco fields in Copán.

His paper workshop employs 25 women in Danlí. All the wrappers for each cigar come from the paper factory.

Oscar Valladares employs over 200 people in Danlí. From February 2017 to February 2018, the company grew 168 per cent and produce 350,000 cigars per month.

Oscar lives in Houston, Texas, where he controls his business but is often in the Factory in Danlí. Oscar incorporated the Mayan history and story into his cigar brand.

Cigar Factory in Copán

Oscar loves the area for several reasons. For one, he raves about the tobacco that grows there.

"The tobacco leaves are thicker, and you have to deal with it differently. You have to understand it. The tobacco has to dry and fermented differently,"

Currently, he only uses leaves from Copán for fillers and plans to cultivate wrapper leaf in Copan. Production will also begin in the Mayan region. The Factory already ferments tobacco.

It's not only the region's tobacco that means a lot to the Hondurans. The Mayans used tobacco. Their story has a significant influence on all Hondurans.

"In ruins, there's unique energy, and each time I'm there, I feel something new, something different." Inspired by two monuments of the World Heritage Site. Oscar

The Storyteller

In early 2018, the new brand Ciserón Edition appeared. Ciserón is a Honduran artist who painted ten cigar images, especially for Oscar. Reproductions of these works serve as a box lid for the Ciserón Edition.

The cigar wrapper is a work of art. You can frame it and hang it on your wall. Each cigar has a story, and a colourful art wrapper adds to the cigar story and experience.

Coffee Plantations

Three years ago, Oscar inherited his great-grandfather's coffee plantations. He runs this branch with the same devotion he builds his cigar business.

Oscar Valladares Philosophy

"Tobacco is generous. You have to touch it, give it love, and if you do that, it gives you love back."

Oscar Superfly & Wine Pairing

The cigars chocolate biscuit flavours pair perfect with the wine sweet cherry taste. The Superfly and rose pairing have raisin flavours and a Christmas cake finish.

The Superfly and white wine have creamy coffee, chocolate and savoury butter tastes. The waxy characteristics of the white wine lift the Maduro raisin and cocoa flavours.

Oscar Superfly Pairing Conclusion

The white wine pairs better with the Maduro. The combination is a creamy cocoa powder with a light fruitiness.

The sea air in the wine lifts the liquorice, and raisin tastes in the cigar. The cigar construction is incredible with a firm ash. The burn line, even on a windy day, was perfect. It's cocoa, smooth coffee, with a creamy caramel finish. The wines fruitiness renew the pairing flavours with each sip.
