Product Description
Referencing the nickname for the American $100 bill coming from the blue security strip on new bills, Blue Cheese is one of the best Nicaraguan, Habano-wrapped cigars ever made (smoke it, then call us to debate). This is one of the first cigars rolled at Tabacalera Annex, the new AJ Fernandez Privada Cigar Club factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The AJ Fernandez Blue Cheese is a strikingly unique and flavor-forward collaboration between Privada Cigar Club and AJ Fernandez, crafted at the acclaimed Tabacalera Annex in Nicaragua. This 6×52 toro showcases a toothy, oily Nicaraguan Habano wrapper that encases a rich, all-Nicaraguan core. With a medium-to-full strength profile and near-flawless construction, this cigar balances boldness with finesse.
From the first light, you’re met with a satisfying draw and an evolving complexity that surprises and delights. The early profile introduces notes of caramel, cinnamon, cedar, and mellow green apple, with a retrohale revealing leather, black pepper, and a touch of sweetness. As the cigar progresses into the second third, the experience deepens with flavors reminiscent of flaky pie crust, roasted apples, bourbon-charred oak, and Brazil nuts, layered over creamy undertones and a citrusy edge.
The final third ties it all together with rich oak, leather, anise, and clove, offering a buttery, long finish and a refined peppery kick. While the cigar leans slightly pepper-forward, it maintains balance throughout and never tips into being overly sweet or savory.
